The Samoan government has extended the contract of Brenda Heather Latu as Attorney General until November.

The decision was made by the Prime Minister last week to allow enough time for the post of Attorney General to be re-advertised, an appointee to be named and for the successful applicant to begin serving.

The Samoa Observer had reported recently that Andre Volantras had been selected to replace Heather Latu who opted not to renew her contract.

However, the report has been described by the Prime Minister's Office as premature.
