The Solomon's Prime Minister, Manasseh Sogavare, is expected to make an official announcement over the appointment of a new Attorney General tomorrow.
Mr Sogavare returns from his trip to the United Nations in New York later today.
News of the appointment of an Australian lawyer, Julian Moti, was revealed last week .
Mr Moti was previously banned from the Solomons for interfering in local politics and it has now been reported that he maybe under investigation in Australia.
Mr Sogavare's media secretary said it was unknown when Mr Moti would arrive to take up his post.
