Hefty pay rises for Solomon Islands politicians, agreed two months ago, are now in place.
Prime minister Manasseh Sogavare receives a 103 per cent pay rise with his salary jumping to nearly 20 thousand US dollars.
Ordinary MPs will now receive nearly 14 thousand US dollars, a rise of almost two hundred percent.
