The final vote count from the Cook island's general election last week should be known some time tomorrow after the ship carrying the ballot boxes from the Northern groups of Manihiki and Pukapuka arrived in Rarotonga this morning.

Preliminary results released last Tuesday show the Democratic Party leads the Cook Islands party by 14 seats to 10.

The Electoral Office sorted through 500 special votes last week with an office spokesman saying these votes could make a difference to the final count.
