The Solomon Islands government is planning to open a high commission in Suva next year.
The new office is expected to strengthen economic and diplomatic relations with Fiji and regional organisations based in Suva as well as other regional countries.
It will also provide services for the Solomon Islands community living in Fiji and the large number of Solomon students studying in Suva.
