The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced that Daniel Tuhanuku will become it first chief executive officer.

Mr Tuhanuku has recently returned to the country from the United Kingdom and has a range of professional experience, from working for a large multinational British based company to small businesses in Solomon Islands.

He has an honours degree in philosophy, politics and economics from the University of East Anglia.

The Chamber's chairman Peter Goodwin says Mr Tuhanuku's combination of local and overseas experience and academic record mean he is the person to mould the Chamber into an efficient, forward thinking organisation.
