A 36 year-old Samoan woman could be charged with murder after she allegedly attacked her 12 year old son with a stick.

Police are investigating the incident and health officials say the cause of death will be known after a post mortem.

The victim was raised by his grand-mother but he was with his mother at the time of the incident over the weekend.

The boy's grand-mother told the Samoa Observer newspaper that her daughter said she threw a stick at her son as he was running away from her.
