The New Zealand prime minister, Helen Clark, says the Solomons prime minister, Manasseh Sogavare, will not be arrested when he returns home following the Pacific Islands Forum in Fiji.

The PNG media had reported that Mr Sogavare told Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare that he believed he could be arrested when he returns to Honiara tomorrow.

But Miss Clark says this will not happen.

She has told journalists at the Nadi meeting that they have sought information on the media reports and been told Mr Sogavare will not be arrested.
