In Papua New Guinea, Telikom is improving its service delivery in the face of competition next year.

The newspaper the Post Courier reports that Telikom PNG sees the competition as both a threat and an opportunity for the company.

Telikom PNG's CEO David Waterhouse says Telikom has set out a strategy to spend over a 114 million US dollars on improving its service delivery.

The strategy includes a new submarine cable, and a larger customer service centre.

He says in line with projected earnings capital expenditure may exceed nearly a billion US dollars in the next five years.
