Solomons public servants warned of pornography checks

11:04 am on 3 November 2006

The Solomon Islands Public Service Chief Executive, Ishmael Avui, has warned Government Officers that anyone found producing, storing and transmitting pornographic material will be charged without warning.

Mr Avui says it is the duty of all public officers to report any officer who to their knowledge may have produced, stored or disseminated such materials.

Mr Avui also requested officers to immediately erase or destroy any pornographic materials stored in office computers, cameras, diskettes and memory sticks as a team of IT specialists would be dispatched soon to make checks on government-owned property.
