Fiji police warn against imposters

5:00 pm on 8 November 2006

Fiji police have issued a warning after a senior public servant in Nadi was harassed yesterday by two men in civilian dress who claimed to be army officers.

The man says he was asked to accompany them to another location for questioning but he refused.

Police have cautioned the public saying, given the current situation people may try to take advantage, claiming to be from particular organisations.

They say people should always request to see photo-identification and if this is not produced then police should be called.
