Police in Fiji have arrested the sister of the Australian conman, Peter Foster, at Nadi International Airport as she tried to clear immigration.

The Fiji Times reports that the criminal Investigations Department director, Josaia Rasiga, said Ms Foster was kept in custody at the Namaka Police Station.

Officers at the station said Ms Foster was to board a Pacific Blue flight bound for Brisbane when she was stopped by immigration officers.

One of the officers said Ms Foster was wanted by police in Suva to answer allegations in some fraud related cases.

Ms Foster has been in Fiji to visit her brother who was admitted at the Colonial War Memorial hospital after sustaining a gash on his forehead while trying to evade police during his arrest last month.
