Fiji's Tanoa Hotels have entered into a long-term lease with Samoa Ports Authority to build a four-star hotel in Apia.

Tanoa Hotels will have 100 rooms, full conferencing and banqueting facilities, 2 restaurants and a bar.

All hotel rooms will provide broadband access and there will be a mixture of modern rooms and traditional Samoan fales, with some being over the water.

The Reddy Group, which owns the largest local chain of Tanoa Hotels, said they are delighted to extend the Tanoa brand to other countries.

The chairman said Samoa represents tremendous tourism opportunity and provides excellent growth prospects for the hotel chain.

He also announced that Tanoa Hotels, together with Nomads from Australia, will be opening a 100 bed flash backpacker in Vanuatu in February next year.
