Businesses in American Samoa told Nov 17 is deadline for wage survey

The U.S. Department of Labor is reminding businesses in American Samoa that November 17 is the final day to complete a wage survey.

The survey, which is done every two years, monitors the minimum wages of various industries in the territory, as required by law.

Conducted by the University of Tennessee, the survey's team leader Terry Higgins says about 100 businesses in the territory have completed the survey so far.

Results of the survey will be reviewed by a federally-appointed Special Industry Committee and included in American Samoa's next economic report.
