The PNG Ports Corporation Limited has spent US$16 million in the maintenance and capital works at the major ports in the country over the past six years.

The PNG Ports Corporation chairman Limited Job Suat says increased revenue had enabled the company to undertake substantial maintenance of various ports.

The Post Courier newspaper reports the extra revenue has enabled the new APC Wharf to be constructed, and the dredging and upgrading of the container terminal area in Port Moresby at a cost of US$3 million.
