A Samoan village chief, Fuataga Kasimani Lautusi, has lodged a petition in the Lands and Titles court in Samoa seeking to strip a matai title bestowed upon the Minister of Agriculture, Taua Kitiona Seuala

Taua has used the title since he entered politics as an MP fifteen years ago.

The petition is also seeking a ruling to discontinue another village matai, Seuala Patone's connection to the Fuataga title of Lalomanu village.

Both Taua and Seuala have been accused of disturbing the peace within the village by telling untrue stories to the media about chief Fuataga.
