Samoa's Lands and Titles court had ruled against a village council decision to ban an elderly chief, and former MP, Fa'amatuainu Tala Mailei.
The decision to ostracize Chief Fa'amatuainu because he had run in this year's general election against the village's favorable candidate and current MP, Moefa'auo Lufilufi.
But the former MP took the decision to court where the order was made to lift the village ban.
The court has acknowledged the rights of the former MP to run as an election candidate which is protected under the country's constitution.
