7:54 am on 23 November 2006

The Fijian golfer Vijay Singh, says he's not worried about rankings because after the number one spot everything is close and they can change week by week.

Singh who was the world number one for 32 weeks during 2004 and 2005 was in Fiji recently to look at progress on a golf course he's building at Natadola 40 kilometres north of Nadi.

The world number six says he's taking a break until next year and is focussed on other things.

"I know next season is going to be a big one for me and I'm ready to play next season, right now I'm not playing anymore until next year, so this is my break and I'm not really worried about the rankings."

Vijay Singh says he returns to the golf course around the middle of January.
