Forensic experts in Tonga say they have not identified six of the seven known deaths following the torching of Nuku'alofa two weeks ago.

According to Police Commander, Sinilau Kolokihakaufisi, the six remains will be sent to Australia for identification.

He says the only identified body has been referred to the family.

All remains were recovered from the burnt rubble of the power company Shoreline's head office.

Meanwhile, Mr Kolokihakaufisi says forensic investigators are still working on what is believed to be the eighth body discovered at the same area.
