Samoa's Minister of Education, To'omata Alapati Po'ese says a decision has not yet been made on the future of their students attending the University of the South Pacific in Fiji's capital Suva.

This follows the military coup in Fiji last month which led some Pacific government's to pull their students out of the USP.

To'omata says the safety of students is a priority and the govenment will be viewing developments in Fiji before a decision is made.

The minister says however, they could become distance students using the USP campus in Alafua or work part-time classes if resources allow.
