World Surfing organisers have faith in Fiji for now

The organisers have retained Fiji's rounds on the 2007 world surfing tour - for now.

The Chief Executive of the Association Of Surfing Professionals International, Brodie Carr says they will continue to monitor the political situation in Fiji before making a final decision.

He says the men's event, the Globe Pro, is pencilled in for late May and the women's tournament, the Roxy Pro, scheduled for late April.

Mr Carr says Insurance issues due to the unrest may force them into the unlikely position of having both events placed on standby.

Only one official change has been made to the men's tour on this year's 11-round schedule with Chile replacing Mexico as the round five host country in June.
