The former world champion, and 13 times New Zealand champion Beatrice Faumuina will open her discus throwing season by competing in Hamiltion this weekend.
It will be the first competition for the 32 year old since finishing fourth in the discus at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games in March.
Faumuina has qualified for the world athletic championships in Osaka in
August with her throw of 63.30m in Wellington a year ago.
This throw ranked her 14th in the world last year.
