Solomons' teachers take action over outstanding grievances

Teachers throughout Solomon Islands and the country have started boycotting classes as the 2007 academic year commences.

The Solomon Islands Teachers Association, SINTA, is rallying support among its members to pursue grievances which it says the government has been slow in addressing.

The teachers outstanding issues include the government's failure to pay teachers leave and their housing allowances.
