Jury selection to start on Norfolk murder case

4:50 am on 5 February 2007

Jury selection will start today on Norfolk Island in the trial of the New Zealander, Glenn McNeill.

Mr McNeill is charged with the murder of 29-year-old Janelle Patton on Easter Sunday in 2002.

He was arrested in Nelson last February and has pleaded not guilty.

Today 100 possible jurors, taken from the island's electoral roll of about 12-hundred people, will gather at the courthouse, and the 12 jurors will be randomly selected.
