Flags fly at half-mast in Sacremento to mark death of Samoan soldier

Flags were flown at half-mast yesterday in the California state Capitol of Sacramento, in honor of a Samoan soldier killed in Iraq last month.

Army Private First Class, David Toomalatai, died on January 27th of injuries he suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during convoy operations in Taji.

Toomalatai was born in Carson, California and his parents currently reside there.
