The Solomon Islands Minister for Foreign Affairs, Patteson Oti, will address members of a visiting Pacific Island Forum group and representatives of the Regional Assistance Mission today.

The Forum group is in Honiara for a review of RAMSI, which was set in motion after the annual summit in Fiji last year at the height of a diplomatic row between the governments of Solomon Islands and Australia which is the key force in the nearly four-year-old mission.

The Forum's delegation is being led by Papua New Guinea's Foreign Affairs and Trade Secretary, Gabriel Pepson with officials from Tonga, Samoa and the Cook Islands and the Secretariat's Staff.

The Forum visit was planned for December and was to be led by the then chair, Fiji's prime minister Laisenia Qarase, but he was overthrown in a military coup just days before his planned visit to Honiara.
