5:20 pm on 19 February 2007

Climate change experts from about 50 small island developing states, or SIDS, meet in the Cook Islands next week to discuss techniques to help adapt to raised sea levels.

The Cook Islands Times reports the workshop on "Adaptation for Small Island Developing States" is one of three being held by around the world by the SIDS Secretariat.

The newspaper says there are proposals for the Cook Islands delegation to include in their presentations traditional, indigenous cultural practices in relation to climate change.
