The Fiji military has announced the deployment of another 92 soldiers on United Nations peacekeeping missions abroad.

The Fijilive news website says 86 soldiers will go to Sinai and 6 to Sudan.

It quotes the military spokesman, Major Neumi Leweni, as saying the first 42 soldiers for Sinai will leave next Friday while the rest will leave at a later date.

The departure date for the soldiers to be deployed to Sudan has not been confirmed yet.

Last month, the New Zealand government failed in its attempt to stop the United Nations from recruiting Fiji soldiers for its peacekeeping missions.
