The commander of the participating police force in Solomon Islands, Will Jamieson, says police are preparing to execute 250 outstanding warrants in Malaita.
He told Malaitan leaders this week that a series of consultation meetings will be held with the communities in Malaita to clarify the processes of a warrant of arrest.
He says the community must be made aware of all the relevant issues because any misunderstanding will cause problems.
Mr Jamieson is expecting a negative reaction when some of the warrants are executed but he says it is a legal
process the police must enforce.
It is understood that the warrants include one for Edmund Sae who is suspected of murdering former police commander Sir Frederick Soaki.
