Fiji's Military Forces say they will only second officers to government ministries if the need arises.

The deputy commander Navy Captain, Esala Teleni, told Fiji Live that it was not the military's policy to second its officers to government departments.

But he said there were some cases were officers were needed to make sure the function of that ministry returns to normal.

Captain Teleni said that was why commander, Viliame Naupoto, was with the Immigration department because of the problems that have been reported about the services provided.

The military has also seconded its spokesman Major Neumi Leweni to the Ministry for Agriculture following a request from the Interim Minister Jainend Kumar.
