Tropical cyclone Becky has weakened during the day as it is approaching New Caledonia.

The system affected Vanuatu over the past days and is now just off the Loyalty Islands.

Warnings are in place and schools are closed and public services have been scaled down.

People have also been advised against moving outdoors and to be particularly cautious when crossing rivers or creeks, due to the risk of flooding.
