French Polynesia has 12% tourism growth in January

Figures released in French Polynesia show the number of tourist arrivals in January has increased by 12 percent over the same month last year.

The total number of tourists was just over 5,300 with the biggest group coming from Europe and the United States.

The figures of the statistics office show a noticeable increase of visitors from Eastern Europe.

The average length of stays has remained unchanged at just under two weeks.
