Waitakere United look the likely opposition for Fiji's Ba side

New Zealand's Waitakere United have taken the initiative in the race for top honours in Group A of the 2007 Oceania Football Confederation O-League following a 3-0 victory over New Caledonia's AS Mont Dore at the weekend.

Waitakere's victory means a draw in their final Group A match against arch-rivals Auckland City will be enough to seal an O-League Final berth for the West Aucklanders against Fijian champions Ba.

Goals for Solomon Islands international Commins Menapi, Michael Gwyther and Craig Wylie have put Waitakere United in the driving seat.
