American Samoa's Governor, Togiola Tulafono, plans to call lawmakers back to work in early May to review new bills.

The Senate President, Lolo Letalu Moliga, says the governor has informed him and the Speaker of the House that he will issue a call for a special session.

Bills that the administration will be submitting include an early retirement incentive programme and legislation to establish guest worker permits to help the canneries.

The Fono's first regular session adjourned last Friday and the next session does not start until the second Monday of July.
