A 50 metre runaway try for Fiji Warriors flanker Viliame Maya clinched a crucial 16 - 11 win over Savai'i Samoa in Lautoka, Fiji in an International Rugby Board Pacific Cup match.

Savai'i hooker Loleni Tafunai kicked two penalties while Warriors first five

Taniela Rawaqa also replied to take his side to an 11-6 lead.

Savai'i lock Luti Pese scored the match leveling try after taking a clean ball from a five metre scrum with the score locked at 11 all at halftime.

The win is the Warriors first while Sava'i remain winless.

And in the clash of the Tongans Tau'uta Reds beat Tautahi Gold 21 - 13, while Upolu Samoa kicked a last minute penalty to defeat Fiji Barbarians 26 - 25 in Apia.
