The United States government is to give the Solomons 250 thousand dollars in emergency assistance to assist with shelter, water, health and sanitation.

The contribution is been made through World Vision and other humanitarian assistance agencies.
USAID says it will continue to monitor the situation in the Solomon Islands and provide further assistance as appropriate.
