The Star Kist Samoa cannery in American Samoa will close for two weeks beginning next Monday.

The General Manager Brett Butler says the shutdown will allow facility preparations at the Satala plant to begin production of tuna pouches.

The cannery is targeting early July to begin production of more than 200,000 pouches of tuna per day.
