US Army reservists from American Samoa will be mobilized early next month to the U.S. mainland in preparation for deployment to Iraq for a one-year tour of duty.

Lt. Col. Howard Sugai, spokesman for the Honolulu-based Pacific Army Reserve, says some 29 American Samoa members of the 400th combat support platoon are scheduled to depart for their mobilization station in Fort Hood, Texas, in the first week of June.

There they will undergo physical/medical examinations and final preparatory training before deployment to Iraq where they will provide assistance to Fort Hood's 1015th Ordinance Company
