Matt Giteau says he's excited about battling it out with George Gregan for the Wallabies' contentious halfback role and believes similar competition in all positions is a key to a successful World Cup campaign for Australia.
Giteau was judged a great success when thrust into the position on the Wallabies' European tour last November and remains a frontrunner for the role for the upcoming Tri Nations tournament and October's World Cup.

Giteau still considers No 12 his best position and nominated Gregan as the form Australian halfback in this year's Super 14.
