The Junior All Blacks have opened the defence of their Pacific Nations Cup campaign with a 31-10 victory over Samoa in Apia.
The Juniors led 19-3 at half time and scored 5 tries to 1.
Rico Gear scored 2 tries, while Mose Tuiali'i, John Afoa and Ross Filipo also touched down.
In other matches this weekend, Australia A beat Tonga and Fiji beat Japan.
Next weekend the Juniors play Fiji in Suva, while in a double-header at Coffs Harbour Tonga play Japan and Australia A play Samoa.
