New Zealand close the gap in Rugby Sevens on defending champions Fiji

New Zealand have beaten Fiji 29-7 in the penultimate round of the International Rugby Board Sevens series in London.

The New Zealanders dominated possession and territory in the final and scored 5 tries to 1.

However, Fiji still lead the overall competition by 10 points from New Zealand with the final round in Scotland next weekend, while Samoa who were knocked out of the semifinal by New Zealand 19-nil slip to third place.

In other results, South Africa won the Plate, England the bowl, and Kenya the Shield.
