PNG child sex ring busted

Papua New Guinea police are reported to have uncovered a child prostitution ring involving local underage girls and foreigners.

The newspaper, The National, says an Australian citizen and another foreigner of Asian origin were allegedly involved.

It says more than five girls under 15 were taken to a Madang residence where they had been promised jobs as cooks, cleaners and house girls.

Police say they raided the house early this month after monitoring activities since a tip off in October last year that illegal activities were occurring there.

The paper reports the girls were allegedly forced to have paid sex with the foreign men.
