16 new positions in Solomons judiciary

Solomon Islands Chief Justice, Sir Albert Palmer, has welcomed the advertising of 19 Government posts within the National Judiciary, 16 of which are new positions.

Sir Albert says it is very encouraging to see the Government's commitment to strengthen the justice system in this year's Budget progressing.

The Chief Justice says it is vital to the future of the nation that these posts are filled by the very best people, ones who understand how important it is to continuously improve the quality of justice delivered to the people of Solomon Islands.

As part of the Government's policy program, a number of senior leadership posts are now available which includes a Chief Magistrate, three Principal Magistrates, Chief Executive Officer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Cheif Accountant, Sheriff of the High Court, Deputy Sheriff, Listing Coordinators for High Court and Magistrates' Courts and Judge's Associate.

Sir Albert says for justice to truly become visible, tangible and accessible to the whole community the country need the right people with the right skills in place as soon as possible.
