Woman killed in axe altercation in PNG

A woman in Papua new Guinea was killed in a Central Province village during an altercation when her son reportedly did not like the food his wife had prepared.

National Capital District and Central commander Alfred Reu reported death of the 50-year-old woman from Apanaipa village.

The Post Courier newspaper quotes Mr Reu as saying the victim was reportedly killed trying to save her daughter-in-law from her son's attack.

A 32 year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder.
