Pacific nurses' leaders to meet in American Samoa to find answers to shortages

Combatting the acute shortage of nurses in the US Pacific is one of the issues on the agenda for the meeting of the American Pacific Nurses Leaders Council which American Samoa is hosting next week.

About 100 delegates are expected from 7 US Pacific jurisdictions including Guam, the Northern Marianas, the Marshall Islands and Federated States of Micronesia.

Discussions will focus on developing nursing leaders and strategies to address the shortage of nurses.

Prominent local professionals outside the medical profession will be among speakers at the conference.
