Samoan lock on the verge of realising his dream

9:23 am on 12 June 2007

The Wellington and Crusaders lock Ross Filipo is on the verge of realising his dream of playing for the All Blacks having been called into the squad for this weekend's test against Canada.

Filipo abandoned thoughts of representing Samoa at this year's World Cup when he made the Junior All Blacks, and he's earned his promotion call up on the back of an outstanding Super 14 season.

The twenty eight year old Samoan believes his mobility was central to his callup.

"I've worked on that aspect of my game, like my cleaning of rucks being more physical at the breakdown, I'm just going to go out there and just do as I do and if the wise men are happy with it then sweet."

The All Black team to play Canada will be named on Wednesday.
