Fallen rugby star reported to be making return to league

St George Illawarra is set to sign fallen rugby union star Wendell Sailor.

The newspaper, The Australian, reports the 32-year-old will sign with the Dragons after his drug ban ends in May next year.

Sailor, a dual international who switched to rugby from rugby league in 2002, had received a two-year ban after testing positive to cocaine following a Waratahs Super 14 game in April 2006.

There's speculation the Dragons will look at playing the winger as a second rower.

NRL chief executive David Gallop said the league would not stand in the way of any club wanting to sign the former Brisbane Bronco.
