Managing Director of Samoana Broadcasting Ltd faces court charges

The Managing Director of Samoana Broadcasting Ltd, which owns LAUTV, is facing ten charges for non payment of National Provident Fund or NPF contributions.

Tuiasau Leota Uelese Petaia, who has appeared in the District Court, is accused of failing to pay his employees' NPF contributions between February and November 2006.

The total unpaid funds is 25,660 US dollars.

Defence Counsel Ameperosa Roma asked the Court for an adjournment to discuss the matter with his client.

Judge Vaepule Alo Vaemoa Va'ai granted the adjournment without a plea by Tuiasau.

He is to reappear in Court July 10.
