Former ANZ employees in American Samoa plead not guilty to stealing thousands

Three former employees of ANZ Amerika Samoa Bank have pleaded not guilty in the High Court to charges of stealing, embezzlement, and forgery.

Their pre-trial conferences have been set for July 23rd.

Former bank tellers Jessie Maiava and Caroline Ulberg are facing charges of stealing, embezzlement, and forgery.

Tofa Toeaina, who was their supervisor is charged with stealing and embezzlement.

The government says the trio who had worked for the Ofu branch of ANZ Bank, stole nearly $100,000 US dollars in bank funds.

A fourth employee is testifying for the prosecution.
