The Supreme Court in Samoa this week will deliver a sentence on the first criminal case involving the possession of cocaine.

A man in his late forties, Joe Lafaele or Joe Palagi, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and unlawful weapons after a police raid early last year.

The defendant is facing charges of possession of the drug and unlawful weapons.

Mr Lafaele has pleaded not guilty, but changed his plea to guilty when the case was heard again last week.
